Kelp is a type of large economical algae growing in low-temperature seawater and most often cultivated in northern coastal waters and Zhejiang, Fujian coastal water. The output of kelp in China ranks first in the world. Rongcheng city in Shandong province is called the “Hometown of Kelp in China” with annual output of more than 1000 thousand tons of kelp, accounting for 50% of total output in China. We have built one production base for processing of kelp in Rongcheng city, to ensure a stable source of fresh kelp.
The kelp is rich in trace elements, and contains a certain amount of phenolic compounds, algal polysaccharide and a great number of growth regulating factors, dozens of mineral materials like potassium, calcium, magnesium, ferrous, zinc and iodine, as well as vitamin. In summary, kelp contains nutrients, antibiotic substances and natural hormones.
The active nutrients in kelp can fix damaged cells, improve crop growth, promote nutrition transport, solve the problem of yellowing and withering, fully activate growth defense system and fix the damages caused by excessive fertilizer, improper fertilization, pesticide application and severe weather. The algal polysaccharide and mannitol in kelp take a part in the oxidation-reduction reaction, and be ale to improve transportation efficiency of nutrition to fruits, improve fruit taste, extend fruit picking season, increase the yield and improve the quality.
